Camps for Ages 5 - 9

Looking for a unique summer educational experience that will challenge and excite your child? Our camps teach students technology skills through fun, engaging and dynamic projects, many of which feature special LEGO® components, such as battery packs, motors and gears.

From robotics to iPad® movie-making, game design, TechKnowHow camps provide supportive, teacher-led instruction followed by hands-on learning experiences that let students use technology in creative ways. Campers gain technical skills along with confidence as they explore, create and problem-solve.

All camps also include team-building, group games and recess activities to provide time for shared fun and a chance to get to know fellow campers.

Galactic Adventures ages 5 - 7

Galactic Adventures - Ages 5 - 7

  • Morning camp (9am-12pm)
Students settle on a distant planet, creating homes, rovers, and spacecraft with LEGO® components.
Super Hero Robotics ages 5 - 7

The Great Race - Ages 5 - 7

  • Morning camp (9am-12pm) at Federal Way location
  • Morning camp camp (8:30am-11:30am) at Renton location
Students build a train, plane, dune buggy, dogsled and sailboat to race around the world in a week.

Super Heroes/Builders - Ages 5 - 7

  • Afternoon camp (12:30-3:30pm) at Kent location
  • Afternoon camp (12:00-2:30pm) at Renton location
Campers create motorized projects with LEGO® components to help Super Heroes save the day!
Super Hero Robotics ages 5 - 7

LEGO® Remote Control Projects - Ages 5 - 8

  • Morning camp (9am-12:00pm) at the Dakota Park locations
  • Afternoon camp (1:00pm-4:00pm) at the Alki location
Students innovate with tech - building fun remote control creations with LEGO® motors.

Super Hero Robotics ages 5 - 7

Jedi Builders Academy: Star Wars® Projects - Ages 6 - 7

  • Afternoon camp (12:30-3:30pm)
Students learn advanced techniques while building Star Wars® projects with LEGO® components.
Robotics ages 7 - 9

Tech Explorers: Robotics and Stop-Motion Movies - Ages 7 - 9

  • All day camp (9am-3:30pm) at the Federal Way and Kent locations
  • All day camp (8:30am-2:30pm) at the Renton location
Students build and program robots and machines to help solve a mystery, then team-up to make a stop-motion movie starring LEGO® minifigs in sets that they build.
Game Design ages 8 -12

Motor Madness with NXT® Robotics - Ages 7 - 9

  • Morning camp (9am-12pm)
Students will work in 2-person teams, exploring robotics as they build projects that include a dog-sled and mouse-trap using the LEGO® Mindstorms NXT® microcomputer and sensors. Students create programs for many of their builds by pressing buttons on the NXT® brick microcomputer. These programs designate how motors will respond to sensor data. It's a great way to get introduced to the power of programming!
RC Projects and Game Design - Ages 8 - 11

Technovators: RC Projects and Game Design - Ages 8 - 11

  • All day camp (9am-3:30pm)
Students innovate with tech - building fun remote control creations with LEGO® motors and then designing their own computer game.
Game Design ages 8 -12

Live Action Movie Making - Ages 9 - 12

  • Half day morning camp (9am-12pm) at Delridge
  • Half day afternoon camp (1pm- 4pm) at Dakota
Students will jump into a live action movie-making experience! Learn the entire filmmaking process from pitching an idea and production planning to recording and directing talent.
Movie Making LEGO® Stop Motion

Movie Making LEGO® Stop Motion - Ages 9 - 12

  • Half day morning camp (9am-12pm) at Delridge
  • Half day afternoon camp (1pm- 4pm) at Dakota
Students will work in teams to create a stop-motion movie starring LEGO® minifigures and sets that they create using LEGO® components.
